I have over the last few weeks, carefully avoided all of the pink promotional paraphernalia that goes along with this Mother's Day time of year...
Instead I have been incredibly attentive when it comes to celebrating motherhood by way of morning tea scones (thank you Mum)...
Chrysanthemums;
Coffee;
And perhaps the most joyous, watching my Mother (in Law) read to her grandchildren at church tonight. A precious moment in true matriarchy.
Mother is the heart of the family,
Her passion is love, that never fails,
Her arms always around you,
Her loving eyes upon you,
Her wisdom amazing, and all encompassing,
She will look for you everywhere,
She will knock on every door,
Never rest until you are,
Safe, and dry, and warm.
For she is yours,
As you are hers.
...And if you happen not to have a mother (as such) for whatever the reason. Then the Lord is all of this to you. Even more directly than for those who have this filtered through motherly love.
