Please Bring Her Back

She looked at me as if to say; 'you have the answer but,
I don't yet know the question?'
And then in some other realm around us,
 there were disturbances, and distractions...

I stand there nervously, observing all of this
as I order a cup of coffee-
I feel the world turning around,
I hear you whisper in my ear.

I say; 'Please bring her back,
Please bring her soon...'

She came into the room,
too frightened to assume that she'd be welcome,
She stayed for no more
than a moment longer than she wanted.

And I stand there nervously observing all of this
as I search for the right thing to say?
I felt her starting to return,
I prayed for whispers in her ears...

and I prayed, 'Please bring her back,
Please bring her soon,
Please draw the heart...'

Maybe it's not fair to want her back!
 to want her to enquire,
Of the hope within me,
No!  I want her to want something better!

'Please bring her back, please bring her soon!'

She looked at me as if to say, 'you have the answer but,
I don't yet know the question?'

And I knew that she would soon be back,
when He had whispered in her ear.

  2. Hi Zoe, yes it's a song of mine.

But today I thought it needed to stand alone as a piece of poetry. You can hear it on may FB page if you like! And I'll make sure I play it on August 10 for C&C.

    Lovely to hear from you.

  3. I experienced it anew. I wonder - is it more or less stunning as a poem or as a song?!
    An undeniable experience
